If you are coming by car
Unless you live locally, no matter where you are coming from, you will eventually be at one of two places: M5 or M27. From both directions you need to get onto the A35. From M5, get off at junction 25. Follow the signs to Weymouth. If you come down M27 and through New Forest, follow sign-posts to A31 and Dorchester which will then start saying Weymouth too. From A35 you will find the A354 sign posted into Weymouth and as you get closer, to Portland.

Keep following the signs to Portland which will take you along Chesil Beach and onto the island. You will see signs to Fortuneswell follow these. SAT NAV sometimes tries to take you up Queens Road (it is more direct but very narrow). The slightly longer route is easier.

There is parking in front of the house if you have a small-to-medium size car. The road is very steep, narrow and the angle is not easy. If, when you see it, you prefer not to try it, please feel free to stop on the road to unload (our road is only used by residents) and then take your car to the free car-park which is literally 2 minutes walk away (see map).

If you are coming by train
There is an excellent train service from Waterloo. The regular trains take 2 hrs 50 mins. There are a few express trains which take 2 hours 35 mins. Trains also come into Weymouth from Bristol and the South West. Weymouth station is 5 miles away from The Jasmine House. At Weymouth station, across the road you will see WeyLine Taxi shop. Rather than use the Taxi’s in the rank, use the shop and ask for their Fortuneswell special, which costs £8.50. If you take one from the rank, it will be what ever is on the meter which could easily be more than the set price. I may be able to collect you too – so please let me know your arrival time.

Your journey here…

For most people, getting to The Jasmine House will be quite a journey. See this time as part of the process: it is about getting away to reflect, learn and heal - which is hard to do when you're in the midst of the hustle-and-bustle of your everyday life. When you get here – it will be worth the effort!
