Walk to Portland Bill

If you are here for a 3 or 4 day personal or couples retreat, weather permitting, there may be time for you to walk down to Portland Bill.

The walk usually takes just over 2 hours. It begins with a steep climb up to Tophill – very aptly named! At the top, take in the view (and get your breath back!) and follow the path gives through Tout Quarry Sculpture Park before joining the costal path with stunning views of Chesil Beach and the Jurassic Coastline as it gently wends it's way down to the Bill.

Benefits of walking

walk Portland

Walking is a wonderful exercise. Even if you are unfit, most people can do this walk – even if it means admiring the view a little more often on the way up to Tophill!

Fast walking can be aerobic – but if you walk at a gentle pace, it helps calm and soothe the mind, body and soul.

Whilst walking admire the view, breathe in the sea air and feel better about being alive!
