    How to recognise the signs and symptoms of a burnout

    It’s easy to overlook the early warning signs of a burnout. Fatigue and tiredness are dismissed as working too many hours. Irritability with family and friends is put down to stress. Anxiety is considered an outcome of juggling too many balls. All executives and professionals experience this from time-to-time, BUT prolonged periods of fatigue, high levels of stress and constant underlying anxiety, requires an intervention. This is the time to get clear on what is happenning. Discover what needs to change. Implement these changes. And have an ongoing review.

    Typical signs and symptoms of a burnout include:

    • Difficulties sleeping, constant fatigue and exhaustion
    • Feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of work that you have to do
    • Unable to unplug when at home—checking emails and taking calls
    • No real interest or deep connection with loved ones or friends
    • Becoming hooked on stimulents, alcohol, sex or extreme workouts
    • Fear that your work is suffering and it will be spotted

Overview of Executive Burnout Retreats — get back on track fast

Executive Burnout Reteats are held at The Jasmine House, on the beautiful isle of Portland in Dorset. They are held on a one-to-one basis with no one else on retreat at the same time. This protects your privacy and ensures maximum effectiveness to get you back on track quickly.

Retreats begin on Monday and finsh on Friday afternoon. Each retreat is designed specifically for you, but typically Monday afternoon is a full review of what is going on. Tuesday and Wednesday are intensive days of EFT, life coaching and if appropriate emotional healing. Thursday is focused on health. Friday wraps up the work and concludes with a plan. During your stay delicious, nutritious breakfasts and lunches will be served. There are early morning walks and evening meditation sessions. There is a digital detox to help you unplug. On Thursday, exercise might include a much longer walk, or cardio exercise, or swimming (in a pool or in the sea) or cooking, and/or sports or meridian massage with local therapists. After your retreat, there is a report with advice on how to continue this work, plus 3 x 45 minute telephone or Skype calls in the following 6 weeks to embed the changes.

I’m here to listen and offer my professional advice. I don’t sell my services. I only take on clients when I know I can help them make big changes to their lives. After we have spoken, if you wish to proceed, we will begin with a scheduled 30-minute call. This will create a foundation for your retreat. A schedule with all the information you will need for your retreat will then be emailed to you.

Your retreat will begin on a Monday and end on a Friday. My time is completely dedicated to you during your retreat. As well as your sessions with me, there will be nutritious, delicious breakfasts and main-meal lunches, early morning walks and evening meditation. On Monday evening, we will have dinner at The Cove Inn as a further opportunity to understand what you are experiencing. Depending on your needs, there may be time with other therapists for massage, or entry to sports facilites – this is also included in the price. If you arrive by train, I will be there to pick you up and take you back to the station.

After your retreat, there will be 3 x 45 minute follow-up calls/Skype to further embed the changes.
